We Aren’t All Meant to Be Monks!

    January 24, 2018 / No Comments

We are not all meant to be monks living the spiritual life free of all desires, but we are meant to experience peace. If we were all monks, there would be no sex (no babies), no drugs, no rock and no roll, and while this utopia is a very peaceful, quiet world it isn’t a balanced one. Without darkness there is no light. Without light there is no darkness. We must accept both as one.   Photo by: Sam Austin There are two ways to free yourself from desire: the first is to simply let go, the second is to fully indulge until you realize that you no longer needed it…

Join the Movement

Happy #mantramondaymovement we are a community of people encouraging personal growth through a weekly mantra. See the second picture to learn how to participate. @elisanicolevibes and I were talking about the feeling of never having enough. This weeks mantra is intended to remind you that happiness, peace, and serenity start from within and this is the key to liberation. Lately, I've been feeling bogged down by my day to day. Feeling like I dont have enough money, I don't have enough time, I don't have enough freedom. I've been craving the sort of liberty I feel when I travel and wanting to recreate that mindset in my life during a time when I'm less nomadic. When I'm traveling I somehow become the best version of myself. Maybe it's because of the excitement? Maybe it's because the lack of routine? But ultimately, I beleive that some how finding that intrinsic satisfaction despite my circumstance will be the ultimate liberation not the travelling itself. I like to take a moment to share new accounts I'm following that inspire my own journey of personal growth. I do so as a personal invitation for them to participate but also for others to check out accounts that I think embody what the #MantraMondayMovement is all about: @ivys.zen @mindfulproductivityblog @mollybryn @thebretterway @becoming_cate @holistichippie_ @skylark_studios @yougodoyoga @darcmoon @thegoldsoulgroup
